About Pharos Remote

The Pharos Remote application allows remote management of printing and user administration by administrators and staff members. Using Pharos Remote,  users with the appropriate role can remotely manage user accounts and printing including:

  • Viewing print jobs
  • Moving print jobs to a different Print Group
  • Moving printed jobs to a different printer
  • Releasing print jobs
  • Releasing password protected jobs
  • Deleting print jobs
  • Reprinting print jobs
  • Creating user accounts
  • Crediting and debiting user balance

Pharos Remote Contexts

The functions that Pharos Remote offer change depending on the role of the person logged on. For example, when an user with Administrator role logs on, only items that the Administrator has access to will be displayed in the Context Tree. The following contexts are used for managing Pharos Remote:

Users

  • Accounts, where you can manage user accounts.

Output Management

  • Overview, where you can view the print environment configuration.

Job Management

  • Queued Jobs, where you can view and release print jobs waiting in the Secure Release Print Groups.
  • Printed Jobs, where you can manage printed jobs.

System

  • Transactions, where you can view all transactions recorded in the Pharos Database.
  • Alerts, where you can see a record of all system problems that occur.
