Batch Loading Users

You can batch load users using the Batch User Load in the Users > Accounts context. The Batch User Load allows details for multiple user accounts to be loaded, deleted, or updated simultaneously from an external source.

To start Batch User Load, select the Batch Operations Action on the Accounts Actions Pane.

The Batch User Load dialog allows you to:

  • Insert User accounts -  New users are inserted from a source file or Windows domain.
  • Update existing accounts - Recent information for users already existing in the Pharos database is gathered from the source file or Windows domain, but no new users are added to the database.
  • Synchronize user accounts - Recent information for users already existing in the Pharos database is gathered from the source file or Windows domain, and new users are added to the database. At the same time, there's an option to delete, retain, or deactivate users from the Pharos Database if they no longer exist in the source file or Windows domain.
  • Delete user accounts - All users that are specified in the input source are removed from the Pharos database. If transaction records associated with a user have not already been archived, they are deleted with the User.

Users can be batch loaded from a text file or a Windows domain. When loading from a text file, most User details can be specified -  see the Batch Load Technical Information for full details of the available fields and expected file layout. When loading from a Windows domain, the following details are loaded:

  • User name/Logon ID
  • Full name (split into First Name(s) and Last Name)
  • Description (loaded into the Comment field)

Address and Phone details cannot be batch loaded.

When batch loading from Active Directory domains, permissions must be set to ensure that all users are loaded.
