Building a Package
After setting up your Package Definitions, the next step is to build your packages. Pharos Administrator allows you to build multiple packages simultaneously and build packages individually using the Package Builder.
You can build packages at Packages > Package Definitions context.
To build packages:
- From the Packages Definitions List Window, select a package you have previously defined.
- In the Package Definitions Action pane, select the Build Packages action ( ). This opens the Package Builder dialog.
- In the Package Builder dialog,
tick the following checkboxes:
- Verify Data
- Build Files
- Sync Manifest and Files
- Click Start. In this phase, all modules and packages are built. The Package Builder will produce new module files where required and overwrite the old ones.
- Click the Show Files button on the Package Builder's progress dialog. This opens Windows Explorer to the location of the install packages.
Packages are created in the directory specified by the Package Build Location property. Modules for the Lite installers are created in a directory called modules, which is created as a sub-directory under the main packages directory.
Once created, the package can be now be deployed to your client PCs. See Deploying Install Packages for more information about distributing your install packages.
