Installing Pharos Remote

You can install Pharos Remote using the RemoteInstaller.exe install package. Installing this package gives you a limited version of the Pharos Administrator, which only includes contexts required for Remote functionality such as Users, Alerts, Transactions, Output Management Overview, Queued Jobs and Printed Jobs.

Requirements

The Pharos Remote application can be installed on any computer running the following platforms:

  • Windows Server 2022
  • Windows Server 2019
  • Windows Server 2016
  • Windows Server 2012 R2
  • Windows 7 Business Edition, Enterprise Edition, and Ultimate Edition
  • Windows 8 Basic, Pro, and Enterprise Editions
  • Windows 10
  • Windows 11

Microsoft .NET Requirements

Before installing Pharos Remote, .NET Framework 4.6 or higher must be installed first.

Installation

Before you begin:

Download the Pharos Remote install package from the Packages > Client Installers context of the Administrator. This package is also available on the Pharos disk image in the clientinstallers directory and in the Program Files\Pharos\Client Installers directory of all Pharos Administrator PCs. This package can be copied off the CD and distributed as necessary.

To install the Pharos Remote application on a PC:
  1. Run the RemoteInstaller.exe install package on a client PC and click Next at the Welcome screen.
  2. Enter the Database Server Host Name of the machine on which you installed the Pharos Database Service and click Next.
  3. Enter the Database Server Host Name of the machine on which you installed the Pharos Database Service and click Next.
  4. Run the RemoteInstaller.exe install package on a client PC and click Next at the Welcome screen.
  5. Click the Start button to begin the installation.
  6. The Pharos Remote installation will commence. Once the installation is complete, click Finish.

Once Pharos Remote is installed, you can open it from the Start menu at Programs > Pharos > Pharos Remote on the PC.
