About the Pharos Print app
The Pharos Print app allows you to easily submit documents from your iOS or Android device to a Pharos secure print queue. To use this app, a Pharos secure print solution must be in place within your organization.
Requirements
You will need a mobile device running either Apple iOS 13.0 or later, or Android OS 6.0 or later. On both devices, you can submit documents to print by using the Open In and Share (iOS) and Open (Android) command.
Getting started is easy
- Download the Pharos Print app from the Apple app store (for iOS devices) or the Google Play app store (for Android devices).
- Start the Pharos Print app.
- Enter the server address and port number provided by your IT administrator.
4. Press Connect. The Pharos Print app will connect to the Pharos server and display a log on screen.
5. Enter your username and password, and then press Log On. You're now ready to begin using the app.
Supported files
The Pharos Print app supports the following file formats:
- Microsoft Office® documents
- Microsoft Outlook® files
- PDF files
- Images (JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP)
- Text files (CSV, RTF & TXT)
- OpenOffice documents
Features
- Edit your finishing options before you print.
- Preview your document(s) before you print.
- Delete a print job from your Pharos secure print queue.
- View all documents in your Pharos secure print queue.
- View your Available Funds and job cost (when applicable).
- Release jobs via Touchless QR Code Release. See the QR Codes topic for information on how to configure QR Code Release.
For Site Administrators
You will need to configure Pharos MobilePrint server and provide instructions to all users, including the server address and port number to use.
What you'll need to support the Pharos Print app on Android and iOS devices
Users will need a mobile device running Apple iOS 13.0 or later, or a mobile device running Android 6.0 or later.
For Pharos Uniprint environments:
- Uniprint 9.0 R2 Update 1 or later
- Pharos MobilePrint 2.1 or later
- Pharos Print Center 2.4 or later
- The server running Print Center Web and/or Pharos API Print Center Services requires a security certificate signed by a certificate authority.
For Pharos Blueprint Enterprise environments:
- Blueprint 5.2 or later
- Pharos MobilePrint 2.1 or later
How to roll out the Pharos Print app
Publish information to your users:
- Tell iOS device users they can download the app from this link in the Apple app store, or search the app store for Pharos Print.
- Tell Android device users they can download the app from this link in the Google Play app store, or search the app store for Pharos Print.
- Provide users with the server name and server port for your organization (the server running the Print Center Web and/or Pharos API Print Center Services.)
- Uniprint credentials are required for users to print using the Pharos Print app.
