A question's type specifies the format of the expected answer. The following question types are available:
This property applies to String, PhoneNumber and Username, Password and Job Name questions only. The string length is the maximum number of characters the user may enter when answering the question. The string length reflects the complexity of the answer required. The default length for a Password Question is 16, but you can set it up to a maximum of 255 characters. |
This property applies to Integer, Float and Money questions only. This is the smallest number that may be entered as an answer to the question. |
This property applies to Integer, Float and Money questions only. This is the largest number that may be entered as an answer to the question. |
This property applies to Float questions only. This is the maximum number of decimal places the user may enter when answering the question. |
This property applies to all question types except for Cost Center. The default value is a common answer to the question. Users may accept this value immediately, or delete it and enter their own response. For List questions, this property offers all items configured for the question for selection. |
This property applies to all question types except for Cost Center. If a question is hidden, the user sees only asterisks (***) when entering the answer. The standard Password question is an example of a hidden question. |
This property applies to all question types except for Cost Center, and is only active if "Yes" is selected for the hidden property. Where questions are hidden, it may be desirable to make users enter the answer twice for confirmation. |
This property applies to all question types. If a question is mandatory, users cannot proceed until they have answered it. Non-mandatory (i.e optional) questions allow users to skip to the next question without entering any response. |
This property applies to Charging Models question only. If a list has only one item, then there is only one possible answer that can be given to the question. In this case, it may be desirable to simply assume the answer and skip the question entirely. The user does not see the question, but it is asked and effectively answered with the only option, as a way of setting a piece of data in a print job without the user knowing. |
