Discount Rate Schedules

The Uniprint charging system can be configured to allow discounting by volume. Discount Rate Schedules contain instructions for how and when users qualify for discounts.

As of Uniprint 8.2, Discount Rate Schedules is no longer supported. However, If you have upgraded from an older version of Uniprint, you can still edit and delete your existing Discount Rate Schedules but you cannot add new ones.

Discount rate schedules are associated with:

  • User Groups at Users > Groups > Billing Category
  • User Accounts at Users > Accounts > Billing Category
  • Cost Center Categories at Charging > Third Party Charging > Charging Models > [selected Category]
  • Cost Centers at Charging > Third Party Charging > Charging Models > [selected Charging Model] > [selected Category] > [selected Cost Center]

Because it is possible to have multiple entities with different Discount Rate Schedules in a single transactions (e.g. a user with schedule A who belongs to a group with schedule B, charges a job to a Cost Center with schedule C), there are a variety of rules that determine which schedule is used:

  • The schedule associated with a user overrides any schedule associated with that user's group.
  • The schedule associated with a Cost Center overrides any schedule associated with that Cost Center's category.
  • When charging to a Cost Center, the Cost Center's Discount Rate Schedule overrides the user's.
  • When charging to a Cost Center, the last Discount Rate Schedule encountered is the one that is used, i.e. if a user selected Cost Center A1 from category A and then Cost Center B1 from category B, the schedule for B1 will be used, unless it doesn't have one, in which case A1's schedule will be used. If neither Cost Center has a schedule assigned, the category's schedule will be used, with category B taking precedence over category A.

Discount Rate Schedules apply only to printing - they cannot be used with Off-The-Glass.

Discount Rate Schedules can only be used with Job Cost Methods set to Attribute charging. They cannot be used with Area charging.
